Galmington Dragons continue to go from strength to strength with the club confirming it will field a side in next season's newly formed Division Five of the Taunton and District Saturday League.
Current under-16s manager Allan Hilton has agreed to take forward those members of the current team who have shown the requisite attitude and commitment.
Although aimed at under-17s, the team will be bolstered on the pitch by many of its current coaching staff who have offered to pass on their wisdom and experience to the youngsters.
A huge lift has been given to the project by the announcement that Dave Chambers, currently with Hamilton and whose son plays in one of the junior Dragons teams, will come across as skipper and joint manager.
The idea of launching an adult side was floated at a brainstorming session which led to the publication of the club's development plan and means all its members now have the opportunity of a route through into the men's game.
As well as its coaches, the side has also recruited some sixth formers at Huish College who had previously been too old to fit into the present age group structure.
Pre-season training will be arranged in due course and a sponsor is actively being sought at the start of what must be one of the most exciting chapters in the club's 11 year history.
Any enquiries should be addressed to Allan on (07850) 666724 or Dragons child welfare and developement officer, Simon Trump, on (07836) 340305.
